PRECIOUS is a bilingual (Chinese and English) cultural magazine that combines art and style. This year, PRECIOUS has reinvented itself, with a greater focus on diverse art forms. Ms. Samantha Sun is a renowned pianist and pipa performer. She is the author of a variety of works and has been a columnist in well-known newspapers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. She has also hosted television programmes in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, and devotes herself to various art and cultural activities.
Ms. Samantha Sun has performed for and met with many world leaders, including Chinese leaders Xi Jinping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, US President George W. Bush, French Prime Minister Dominique De Villepin, Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, Singaporean leaders Lee Kuan Yew, Goh Chok Tong, Lee Hsien Loong and Taiwanese leaders Ma Ying-jeou, Wu Dunyi and many other political figures. Not long ago, Ms. Samantha Sun met with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in London. The famous novelist Mr. Louis Cha Jing-yong once portrayed her in 16 Chinese characters to praise her talents and genius which are admired by many.
Fascinated by music and art, Ms. Samantha Sun has collected various kinds of famous paintings and artworks from all over the world for many years, and has opened numerous music and art centres to support the local development of cultural education. In today's ever-expanding online world, fast entertainment is dominating, leaving us empty inside. Ms. Samantha Sun hopes to bring more people to experience the power of art, so that more talents can gain their well-deserved exposure and recognition. Aiming to promote cultural development, she decided to reinvent PRECIOUS and establish the Biannual Art Exchange Selections.
